Restoration... Restored: 2007
Last purchased in 2008 from classic car dealer in Tennessee claiming the frame up restoration was done in 2007 by a collector in Georgia. From there, additions such as an upgraded suspension, 700R transmission and many other detail parts were added. Floorboards believed to be original - They look exceptionally good. Original owner's manual and protecto-plate. No build sheet.
Exterior... The eye catching, sun-loving non-original paint color sets this vehicle off from all the rest! The coppery red sheen seems to change with the weather. In the evening it appears cherry red. Original style painted tuxedo black ss stripes look strong and menacing. This has a smooth, exceptionally well done paint job with minimal flaws. A winner of several local best paint awards. It has a very straight body and trim. All trim has been replaced or polished back to new. Chrome bumpers and grill has been replaced.
Interior... As with the rest of the car, the interior is tastefully customized. The dash has a Dakota Digital dash kit installed. It looks stock till it is started and the displays are blue digital. It has an Alpine AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with four 6.5s speakers. Two 8" mid subs mounted in the rear deck along with a mirror etched with the Superman logo. The amp is mounted in the trunk which is finished with vinyl and carpet. The upholstery is stock in appearance but the bucket seats, doors and headliner inserts have a black suede-like material with a fine salsa red stitching through it. The console is correct with the proper face plate and indents to accommodate the four speed automatic transmission. Carpet is plush black. The seat belts are aftermarket. The Tilt wheel is a polished Budnick wheel with Billet levers. All knobs, handles, vents and trim pieces have been replaced. The glass has smoke tint in the glass. This is a very well detailed car!
Mechanical... The 402 big block was professionally built when the car was redone in 2007. It has a mild cam and headwork. It has an Edelbrock performer, intake electronic ignition, a Holley Carb., Hedman headers and Flowmaster exhaust. It runs solid and dependable with no motor noises and is very responsive. The 700r transmission and TC was professionally built and installed in 2009. It shifts strong and solid but won't snap your neck when cruising in traffic. The 12 bolt rear end has aftermarket 3:73 gears and some gear noise can be heard. (typical) The fuel tank has been replaced. The CPP sport suspension was professionally installed in Feb 2010. It has adjustable ride QA1 shocks all around with coil-over springs in front to adjust the ride height. 2" lowered springs in the rear with tubular A-arms and poly bushings all around. HD front and rear sway bars. It rides a little stiffer than stock but handles much better! It has very effective stock style disc brakes all around with slotted rotors in front. The brightly polished COY c5 20" wheels with the Toyo Proxie ll tires give the car an aggressive stance. The car has an Optima battery and halogen headlights.
Notes... You will enjoy this car immensely. Its a fun cruiser and show ready. It has consistently won Best in Shows, Best Muscle, Best Paint, Best in Class, Best Interior and People's Choice awards locally/regionally.
