Restoration... Restored: 1988
This car was restored in 1988 by Tim Thorpe and was shown at Pebble Beach not too long after. It was judged by Paul Noble, a notorious Bloomington Gold judge at that time. Paul saw the car again 2 years ago. He judged it the same condition.
Notes... 1968 Corvette L88. only 21,800 original miles on this well documented and collector owned vehicle. In the 1980's a prominent collector had a no-expense-spared frame off restoration completed. This L88 has been awarded the Bloomington gold award. It also has earned a top flight award. This car has been in several collections, stored in climate controlled facilities, by owners who have their own mechanics to care for the fleet, one of them being the late Jerry Moore of Houston TX. It has been meticulously cared for.
This automobile is being sold at a fire sale price. This car is in far better shape than the 1969 L-88 corvette sold at Mecum in Dallas in October for $565,000.
