Oppen to offers on this one of approximately 10 racing Sabots built in Newport Beach by Ron Holder, a well-known boat builder. It is fiber glass, double hulled and self bailing ...meaning when turned over it will not sink and can be back in the race instantly which made it an unfair entry compared to the common plywood Sabots. It was subsequently disqualified from most sailboat races in Southern California due to it's obvious advantage
over standard Sabots. For that reason, Ron did not build any more, but went on to build larger boats. It is a lot of fun to sail, perfect for a Bay or any inland freshwater lake.

This boat has had only two owners. Current owner bought it from the original owner in 1975 and used it occasionally until 1980 when it went into indoor storage. It was taken out of storage recently to take the photo. It is in excellent condition. Sabots were intentionally built a fraction under eight feet long so as to not be required to be licensed. They are easily transported in the back of a pickup and lifted by an average adult ( or strong kid ). Includes teak centerboard, teak rudder with hiking stick, sail bag and mast bag.
