Restoration...
Restored:  unknown

purchased 22 years ago from a private seller in Santa Rosa, California. It may have been restored prior to that.

Exterior...
The exterior is painted. The color on the body is tan, fenders are black. it has numerous areas that the paint has peeled off and some surface rust is there, mostly on the hood, but also between the door and running board, mostly on the driver's side. A line along the passenger door needs to be repaired where it was scratched. The front left window and rear right window both have cracks. This car needs some minor body work and a good paint job, and is DEFINITELY restorable!! The car has 12 spoke wooden wheels painted burgundy. The spare tire comes with it and hangs on the rear.

Interior...
RIGHT HAND DRIVE. Dash and steering wheel are original metal, need restoring. Interior panels are covered matching the tan seats, in good condition, seats are in good condition, and only need a bit of cleaning after sitting for a long time. I do not know if they are original or restored, carpets are fair. There is one missing interior door handle. The windshield opens from the bottom front by lever.

Mechanical...
The engine is an Opel 1971 or 72. We understand that originally it had a factory continental engine. This car was built for export to australia. The turn indicators are present and functioning.

Notes...
This Erskine was shown at the Ford Towe Museum in Sacramento in July 1992 at the Car Club Cavalcade. It is a 2-Door sedan, front seats fold forward for access to back seat where there is a bench seat. This is a very unique car. Vintage "19 CALIFORNIA 28" license plate. There is hole for the crank, but this engine does not start with a crank. Courtesy lights, head lights, tails light and chrome bumbers are all there and in good condition. The bar across the front between the headlights bears the Erskine/Studebaker STAR insignia. Once fully restored this baby will be even more delightful!!
